'I am not the head, neither the tail' - Ram Kapoor

Ram Kapoor, the ideal gentleman of small-screen, on a tete-e-tete with Telly Buzz…

After his stint as host in Rakhi ka Swayamvar, Ram Kapoor is back to fiction with Basera on NDTV Imagine. Telly Buzz caught up with the actor on the sets of Imagine's Basera, where a Mehendi competition was being shot between all the couples of the show.

Here is Ram Kapoor talking about his time on sets, his co-actors, and also gives a message to his fans.

Tell us about the present sequence going on in Basera.
Right now there is a sequence of mehndi. It's really fun because the deal is that we husbands have to put mehndi on our wives' hands. We have no idea how to do it so are just ending up doing very cartoonish things.

What did you bring out on Pallavi's hands?
Well I tried to make some flowery pattern I think it's come out half-done. (Laughs)

Is this your first experience?
Yes, I've never tried to make henna designs on anyone ever before.

What do you like about Basera?
The shows basic plot line is very good. It's very important that we respect our elders. Whatever we get is all because of them. So I hope that we get good viewership for this show.

Have you witnessed the kind of oppression featured in Basera in real life?
No, neither in my family nor in my friends' families.

Is it a sort of re-union between you and Pallavi with Basera?
No it's definitely not a re-union because we were always in touch even when we didn't work together.

Are you the head in the sets?
Nooo, I'm not the head neither the tail. I'm just an actor coming to work everyday on the sets. The whole cast and crew behaves like a team. It's a creative team effort.

How is your working experience with NDTV Imagine?
Very nice. They like taking risks. They are trying to do something hatke. I appreciate it. I always appreciate people taking risk. I have had a great experience with both the shows (Rakhi ka Swayamvar and Basera) so far.

After the Swayamvar, now a Swayamvadhu is going to happen. Will you be hosting it too?
I can't talk about it from any angle. So far I'm not allowed to do it. You will get to know it later.

Your message for India-Forums fans.
Ohh… India-forums?!(Smiles) Hmm… I hope all of you guys are doing great and I hope I continue to do good work and keep you happy. Thank you.
